Samurai return to the SE NSPL 27th November 2005

Another second appearance, this time at the SE NSPL played at Ambush Paintball in Southampton. Our last performance at thsi event was marred by lending out players to other teams and losing focus on our own game, so this time we took only the 7 men required!

Team: Bop, Paul, Joey, Dan, Chris, Darren & Rob.

After losing our first two games to Tsunami YG & Riptide partly due to cold paint, we quickly recalled the lesson of our 3 Man event and hauled all our kit back to the cars - leaving the engines running to keep the paint warm in the British winter weather! The turnaround effect was immediate and as soon as the paint was running smoothly, we started racking up the wins! Defeating UK Marshalls 2, Bracknell 7, Maidenhead Trauma & Southampton FX on the trot we then faced Tsunami YG again, having faced them 3 times before we had yet to beat them - until now!

Our last match up - against Riptide - proved to be an outstanding game battling down to a one on one. Unfortunately it wasn't to be all our way as Riptide took the points to put them in 2nd place - still a top game! Our 3rd place finish was now dependent on the results of Trauma vs FX - if Trauma won - we would lose out - and as they walked off the field we heard the bad news! However by losing a the 1st flag grab they dropped extra points - leaving us secure in 3rd with our first podium finish - and I'd like to think it well deserved!

Special thanks to our player of the day: Chris for his outstanding play & tech contributions! and a mention for Darren who is without doubt a keystone player who has consistently covered everyone's back and is often the last man standing, but equally to the rest of the team - its the combination of us all playing together that make these things possible!!

Congratulations to all the team - the perfect way to round out the season!
