Samurai at Leg 3 of the NSPL 16th April 2006
The South Collides, held in Reading, Leg 3 of the NSPL this event was played in locked divisions between the SE and SW! This meant every team we played would be on an equal standing, so this event would either prove the merit of our move up to Division 3 or… Team: Bop, Phil, Joey, Pete, Chris, Darren, Martin & Rob. From the start it seemed clear that we deserved our place in Division 3 with a win against Bridport Synapse, shortly followed by another over Cardiff XM7. We then faced Scorpions Blue (formerly Paintball Direct) whose team now included one of our own former players, and the team for which many of us had originally played. However this was our day and we came out on top after an all round good game. Next up was Portsmouth Halloween – we knew it was never going to be easy and after yet another tough game - they took the points! We know who this season’s competition is! We fared equally well in the afternoon defeating Outrage XS, NA Angels Black, Bracknell 7 & Bath Jabberwocky to round out the day. Throughout the day Pompey Halloween had also lost one game only, and first place was coming down to points! Unfortunately Bracknell 7 had managed to take first flag grab in our match and by denying us those crucial points put Pompey firmly ahead! However we took 2nd place 98 point clear of XM7 in 3rd. A great performance by the whole team, aided by the finest paint we’ve ever used – big thanks to John & Chris at Lips for the Marballizer, which really made an impact! Thanks also to Darren, our player of the day, who has consistently performed as a star back player! Congratulations to all the team – a great result that was well earned! Division 3 1. Portsmouth Halloween 2. Samurai 3. Cardiff XM7 |
