Samurai - NSPL Leg 3 Reading Division 1- 22nd April 2007
Following the loss of Martin Vipas, Samurai played this event in his memory and wore black armbands as well as fund raising for Cystic Fibrosis. We also had to prove that the last round was no fluke, as well as wanting a podium finish that we could dedicate to Martin, so the pressure was on! We went out for the first game, feeling overconfident and received some pretty harsh calls in losing to Cynergy Academy. We immediately knew we had to pick up our game, and took straight wins from the next few games. Samurai ended up only losing one more game throughout the day, and placing second overall. This kept us at the top of the league, and proved to any doubters, that round 1 was no flash in the pan! Well played all round and a deserved result! On top of this the team raised over £200 at the event to donate to the CF Trust! To make any further donations please go to: www.justgiving.com/martinvipas
